Privacy Policy – LEC

This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled by the LEC mobile application, published for Lumbini Engineering, Management & Science College.

LEC is a production educational application that connects to the E2E Learning Management System to provide authorized students, parents, teachers, staff, and administrators with access to institutional and academic services.

1. Application Information

The application connects to the production learning management server at e2eportalv2.solveetech.com.

2. Information We Collect

Depending on the user's role, the application may process:

  • Name, email address, user ID and role

  • Student enrollment and academic information

  • Attendance records

  • Assignments, submissions and teacher feedback

  • Quiz and examination information

  • Marks, grades and academic results

  • Timetables and subject information

  • Library records

  • Fee and scholarship information

  • Parent or guardian information

  • Teacher and staff information

  • Profile photographs

  • Notifications and institutional messages

  • Files uploaded by users

  • Device notification information required for push notifications

The application does not collect location, contacts, call logs, SMS, camera or microphone data, Bluetooth data, advertising identifiers, health or biometric information, or payment-card information. It also does not use advertising, analytics, behavioural tracking, or third-party sign-in services.

3. Account Information

Accounts are created by the institution; users cannot create accounts directly through the application.

When signing in, the application sends the email address, password, and organisation code to the learning management server for authentication.

Passwords are not stored on the device.

After successful authentication, the application stores a session token and basic account information required to keep the user signed in.

4. How We Use Information

Information is used to:

  • Authenticate users

  • Provide role-based access

  • Display academic and institutional records

  • Manage attendance, assignments and examinations

  • Display academic results and other records

  • Allow authorized users to submit or update information

  • Deliver institutional notifications

  • Provide application functionality and caching

  • Maintain security and service operation

Information is not used for advertising, behavioural profiling, or targeted marketing.

5. Push Notifications

LEC uses Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) to deliver push notifications.

The application may send a notification registration token and limited device information, such as device manufacturer, model and Android version, to the institution's server so notifications can be delivered to the appropriate device.

Notification messages are delivered through Google's Firebase Cloud Messaging service.

Users can disable notifications through their Android device settings.

6. Data Sharing

Information is not sold or shared with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

Information may be shared with or processed by:

  • The LEC learning management system and authorized institutional users according to their roles and permissions

  • Google Firebase Cloud Messaging, where necessary to deliver push notifications

  • Service providers where technically necessary to operate the application

Academic records, attendance, marks, assignments, submitted files and credentials are not sent to advertising or analytics services.

7. Data Storage and Security

The learning management server and its backups are located in Nepal.

Communication between the application and the learning management server uses HTTPS. The application does not store passwords on the device, and the session token is stored using Android's protected credential storage.

Reasonable technical measures are used to protect information from unauthorized access or misuse.

8. Data Retention

Institutional academic records are retained according to the institution's records policy and may be retained for the lifetime of the institutional record.

Technical server logs containing standard request information, such as IP address and request headers, are retained for approximately 30 days.

Information stored locally on the device, such as cached content and session information, is removed according to the application's local storage and sign-out behavior.

9. Account and Data Deletion

The application does not provide an in-app account deletion feature. Accounts are created and managed by the institution.

Users can sign out or uninstall the application to remove locally stored application information from their device. This does not automatically delete institutional records stored on the server.

Deletion requests may be subject to verification and the institution's record-retention requirements. Some academic or institutional records may need to be retained where required for legitimate institutional or legal purposes.

10. Children's Privacy

LEC is intended for students, parents, teachers, staff and administrators of Lumbini Engineering, Management & Science College.

The application does not provide public registration. Users can access it only with credentials issued by the institution.

The application does not contain advertising, behavioural tracking, or targeted advertising.

11. Third-Party Services

The application uses:

Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) – used to deliver push notifications.

The application does not use Firebase Analytics, Google Analytics, Crashlytics, Performance Monitoring, advertising networks, Google Sign-In, payment gateways, or other analytics and advertising services.

12. Privacy Requests

Users may contact Lumbini Engineering, Management & Science College regarding:

  • Access to their information

  • Correction of inaccurate information

  • Deletion requests

  • Questions about how their information is used

  • Notification-device registration or deregistration requests

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated when the application or information-handling practices change.

The updated policy will be published with a revised Last Updated date.
